Icterus icterus
PRE-LAUNCH
Pico Birds is a modular wooden toy inspired by the birds of the world. Follow the manual to build each species. Then remix the parts and create one that has never existed before.
THE IDEA
Every Pico set is built around three core pillars.
Follow the manual. Assemble your bird piece by piece, beak, body, wings, tail. Each set comes with step-by-step instructions and a story about where this bird lives.
Each bird is a real species, tied to a real place and a real culture. Discover what they eat, where they live, and what makes them unlike anything else.
Now remix. Swap parts across birds and invent a species no one has seen before. Give it a name, a habitat, and a diet. Where will your bird live?

WHY PICO BIRDS
Each Pico Birds collection celebrates a region of the world. Themed by place and species. New drops introduce new birds, new cultures, and new stories.
Sustainably harvested wood. A piece at age 4 still matters at age 9.
Every bird carries a story, a place, a people, a way of seeing the world.
A manual to get started. Total freedom after that.
Non-toxic finishes. Natural materials. Safe for hands, kind to the planet.
Each drop celebrates a region. Collect the places that shaped you.
Build one set. Then the next. The flock grows over time.
"As a female designer and founder, I created Pico Birds thinking about the toys I would want my own kids to play with and learn from. Sustainable, design-led objects with clean ingredients that challenge a child's creativity rather than replace it. I want to teach them the magic of where I come from. The shapes, the colors, the stories behind the birds I grew up looking at from my bedroom window, like the Macaws and Troupials. Each bird in the collection is real: a real species, a real place, a real culture, a real story. And so is everything a child builds from it. The first drop is the birds of Venezuela. We're just getting started."— Mariana Romero Carrillo, Founder and CEO of Pico Birds™
